For the Level 3-5 swimmers (optional L2) there will be a Short Course session running September-April and a Long Course session from April-August.

There are many advantages in progressing to the two session model:

• As the club offers high quality aquatic programming, it needs to align its structure with the nationally recognized USA Swimming seasonal model, allowing for Course specific, progressive training practices.
• Implementation of the two session model allows coaches to tailor training to ensure each athlete's peak potential for specific, pre-determined swim meets. Our swimmers can focus on stroke drills, strength/stamina training and building their yardage to ensure top performance when it counts.
• The advantage for developmental squads is also clear. Year-round swimming ensures that even our youngest swimmers continue to rapidly develop core stroke skills and healthy exersize habits.
• Club pride and camaraderie build as the whole team works together preparing for one meet when all the VAC squads will attend. Even the youngest swimmers are there in their team colors, to cheer on their team-mates, experience the thrill of the meet and even participate in a race to two.
• Finally, it means that families only need to enroll twice a year, and can spread payments out over that time, with a plan through the Park District.
