Objective:
The continued development of core stability in the water, and greater efficiency of all four competitive strokes. Develop increased discipline and stamina over longer distances and learn the basics of competing.
Age: 8 to 11 years old.

Entry Requirements:
Swimmers should:
- Swim at least 50 yards legally in three competitive strokes (free-style, backstroke, breaststroke) regardless of time.
- Have a legal dolphin & breaststroke kick.
- Push hard off wall and correctly streamline to the flags.
- Perform an open and basic flip turn
- Be disciplined in practice, and be able to behave in a group setting without disrupting the workouts or other swimmers.
Description:
This level continues to build on core skills. Swimmers will:
- Continue to develop stroke mechanics for the four competitive strokes
- Competantly use training equipment
- Interval training and drills
- Circle swim - leave on top 5 secs. apart
- Deeper understanding of the IM and relays
- Streamline
- Swim an 200 IM regardless of time
- Swim a Pentathlon
- Swim a 500 Free
- Learn sprint techniques
- Basic skills of racing entries, pull-outs & turns. (block training takes place off-island or in the summer)
- Continue to develop dry land stretching
- Strive for greater efficiency in the water
- Attend at least two swim meets.

Swim Meets:
Swimmers are expected to compete in at least two meets, during the session. Please discuss the your swimmer's readiness for competition with the coach.
Advancement:
Advancement will require achievement in skill, natural growth, personal commitment, and recommendation of coaches.
